Background
Dr. Monica Altman was born and raised in Ecuador, where she earned her combined BA/MD degree from Universidad Católica de Ecuador in Quito. Her international upbringing shapes a culturally informed and patient-centered approach to medicine that resonates with New York City's diverse patient community.
She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard University community hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she built a rigorous foundation in evidence-based primary care and chronic disease management.
Since 2006, Dr. Altman has served patients as a primary care physician within Columbia University's Ambulatory Care Network. She joined Weill Cornell Medicine in May 2011, where she continues to provide comprehensive, thoughtful care to both new and established patients on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
